How To Relax.

Actually, it's not that straight forward. Sure, you could see relaxing and chilling out as a simple thing to do. Not for some people. It actually took me years to figure out what makes me feel at ease.*

I tried baths, sitting at a desk, focussing on one thing, watching tv, colouring in, the whole hog to try and relax. Being a student dealing with social anxiety, relaxation is far too important to lose control of.

Now, as I'm sitting  here - in a blanket fort I made (you're never too old, really) with a lamp switched on, a mug of coffee by my side and Sam Smith singing to me through these magical headphones - I'm completely relaxed. After a stressful day, this is simple and cosy. I'm by myself and acting myself, the best way to be.

This might not be your relaxation method. And that's totally okay. I'm writing this post to let you know that nobody can tell you how to relax; you need to find it out for yourself. We all have different methods. You might like to lounge in the bath, watch youtube, keep yourself  busy or just sleep. That's okay. We all unwind differently, and you won't know which method really chills you out until you try everything. So try something new every night- see where you're the most relaxed. You won't regret it!

How do you like to relax and unwind after the day has been and gone? Let me know!

  1. I unwind and relax by doing exercise (hot yoga!), or just by staying in and listening to music with a candle on. It's so important to find the time to relax, especially after a busy day.

  2. Very relatable! I love going for long walks or sitting outside somewhere pretty. Old-school Taylor swift always puts me in a good mood too haha.

  10. I think that each person is different and it can be hard to find what works best for you - I love having a coffee when I want to relax too! I love doing many things to relax, but ultimately I always have to be alone and at peace to be totally stress-free. As an introvert, I love doing activities by myself, whether it be colouring, watching a film or lying in bed daydreaming! :)
